Marion High School had the honor of receiving an invitation to participate in the KwaZulu Natal Museum Heritage Quiz Competition. This year, the Heritage Quiz was tailored for Grade 8 students, who were provided with booklets related to the First World War and other educational materials to prepare themselves. The competition assessed the 21st-century skills emphasized in the 2023 General Education Certificate document, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
Representing Marion High School in this competition were four Grade 8 students: Thandolwethu Ndlela, Fanesibonge Ngubane, Aphelele Makhathini, and Sphando Shezi. These students achieved an impressive second place out of the eight participating schools. The following morning, they proudly presented their trophy during a full assembly to inspire their fellow students.
The four learners received well-deserved congratulations from their peers, and the trophy was prominently displayed in the assembly area.
